POn the Tuesday 20th February 2024, the EuroCham Garment & Manufacturing Committee met to explore various topics related to garment and manufacturing.

Upcoming publication: Following the previous successful publication of Cambodia Garment, Footwear and Travel Goods Sector Brief Issue No. 2 (Read it here: https://bit.ly/48oByPa), EuroCham, together with Mr Thomas Hesketh, GIZ Integrated Expert: Trade & Sustainable Supply Chains, are working on the development of Sector-Brief Issue No.3.

Update on Solar Panel: Mr. Massimiliano Tropeano, EuroCham’s expert in Sustainability and the Garment industry, shared the latest developments regarding the Electricity Authority of Cambodia’s feedback on the chamber’s position paper about rooftop solar installation and usage. In addition, he emphasized the chamber’s ongoing commitment to advocate for and encourage the adoption of renewable energy sources.

✔Plan and vision for 2024: the committee members have discussed several initiatives for the year including organising advanced training sessions, addressing financial literacy within the sector, implementing a grievance mechanism, and exploring potential events and initiatives.

✔Upcoming Breakfast Talk on Emerging Manufacturing: EuroCham intends to organize once again the upcoming Breakfast Talk on ‘Cambodia’s Emerging Manufacturing and Opportunities in Special Economic Zones.’ The event aims to highlight business opportunities in alternative manufacturing within Cambodia.
