On 3 October, EuroCham Cambodia held an insightful meeting with H.E. Dr. Eang Sophalleth, Minister of Environment, to discuss ongoing developments toward a more comprehensive Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) structure in Cambodia.
The discussion reflected the Ministry’s continued commitment to ensuring that environmental protection and investment facilitation advance hand in hand. Key topics included strengthening the framework for environmental assessments and baseline studies.
Looking ahead, the Ministry shared plans to digitalize the management of EIAs across investment projects, an initiative expected to increase transparency, consistency, and timeliness in environmental review processes.
