Digital & Technology Committee Kicks Off 2026 with Its First Meeting

On Tuesday, 24 February 2026, the EuroCham Cambodia Digital and Technology Committee successfully held its first meeting of the year, led by Mr. Thomas Schings, Vice-Chairperson of the Committee.

 

During the meeting, the Committee reviewed its past initiatives and activities in the ICT sector. Among the key achievements highlighted were the renewal of the MoU with CADT, and participation in several technical and consultative meetings hosted by key counterparts such as the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (MPTC) on initiatives including the Draft Data Protection Law. In terms of events, the Committee successfully organised four major activities in the previous year, two of which were joint initiatives with other EuroCham sectoral committees. 

 

The meeting also welcomed Mr. Jonas Herzing from the GIZ Digital Transformation Center (GIZ-DTC), who shared insights on Cambodia’s evolving digital landscape, covering topics such as digital governance, cybersecurity, talent development, market access for European technology products, and potential areas for collaboration.

 

The session concluded with a review of the final draft of the Digital and Technology Chapter of the upcoming White Book, inviting final feedback to ensure that the recommendations accurately reflect current industry issues and priorities.

 

This meeting reaffirms the Digital and Technology Committee’s strong commitment to advancing Cambodia’s ICT sector and contributing to the nation’s vision of becoming a regionally competitive digital economy.
