Last modified date: 1 Jul 2026

On Wednesday 24 June, EuroCham Cambodia, led by Chairperson Mr. Tassilo Brinzer, held a productive meeting with H.E. Mr. Kong Vibol, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister, Delegate of the Royal Government of Cambodia in charge as Director General of the General Department of Taxation (GDT), at the GDT headquarters. The meeting was also attended by representatives of EuroCham’s Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) Committee.

The meeting delved into the implementation details of Directive No. 4528 issued by the Ministry of Economy and Finance prohibiting the use of “ring-pull” prizes on beverages. Discussions covered clarification of technical ambiguities, the broader regulatory framework, and the mechanisms and procedures for its effective enforcement. His Excellency demonstrated appreciation of the concerns raised by the EuroCham FMCG Committee and expressed his full alignment with the industry’s position on the importance of ensuring public health and a level playing field across the beverages sector.

EuroCham members fully support this measure and reaffirm their commitment to working constructively with the relevant ministries and authorities to ensure effective, consistent, and full compliance across the market by the directive’s implementation date of 1 October, 2026.

EuroCham Cambodia
sincerely thanks H.E. Mr. Kong Vibol for his warm welcome and for personally touring the members through the GDT premises. We look forward to ongoing dialogue and close cooperation with the Royal Government of Cambodia.
