Duration: 1 hour
EuroCham Cambodia’s Healthcare Committee recently met with H.E. Channarith Khun, Deputy Director General of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), to pose a question that has been part of committee discussions for the past two years: how can NSSF health coverage and private insurance work more effectively alongside each other?
At the EuroCham Healthcare Breakfast Talk in May, we explored this question with the Deputy Director General, and his contribution brought NSSF’s responsibility for affordable care and financial protection firmly into the discussion. Yesterday, we dug into the practical questions: why do some members use both systems, how do patients move between public and private providers, and what do hospitals experience with contracting, claims and payment?
At the EuroCham Health Innovation Forum on 22 October, we bring these perspectives together: NSSF, third-party administrators (TPA), private insurers, public hospitals and private healthcare providers. We will look at relevant international experience, hear where the Cambodian systems meet in practice, and identify questions worth examining together after the Forum.
Thank you to H.E. Channarith Khun and the NSSF team for the open discussion, and to Dr. Elias Engelking, Mr. Edouard Lesellier and Mr. Holger Thies for helping move it forward.
