Members of EuroCham’s Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) Committee participated in the Awareness and Consultation Workshop on the Draft Consumer Protection Compliance Guidelines for Business, organised by the Consumer Protection and Competition Directorate-General (CCDG) under the Ministry of Commerce, in cooperation with the EU-German GATE Project, on 9 October at SUN & MOON Riverside Hotel in Phnom Penh.

The workshop provided a platform to discuss the content, scope, and practical application of the draft guidelines, as well as the challenges businesses may face in complying with consumer protection requirements. The guidelines aim to clarify businesses’ legal obligations and promote a better understanding of consumer protection and fair competition through a practical and accessible framework, particularly for small businesses operating in Cambodia.

The FMCG Committee welcomes continued opportunities to engage with government institutions and relevant stakeholders on regulatory developments that strengthen consumer confidence, promote fair and transparent business practices, and foster a trusted and well-functioning business environment in Cambodia.
