Held at Oakwood Premier on March 4, the event provided valuable insights on the latest trends, regulations, and developments in Cambodia’s automotive industry.
Key highlights:
Mr. Makara Chhoeurn, Chairman of EuroCham’s Automotive Committee, shared an overview of the automotive market in Cambodia and crucial policy updates.
H.E. Mr. La Vibol presented the Royal Government’s strategy to develop a skilled workforce capable of producing automotive parts, highlighting the need for expertise in line with the EV policy roadmap.
A panel discussion moderated by Mr. Chhoeurn, saw sector leaders explore current challenges and opportunities in the sector.
Insights from the panel:
Mr. Virote Sawangchange, General Manager at RMA Automotive Cambodia, stressed the importance of developing a sustainable production chain that benefits both the capital and provinces.
H.E. Mr. Chea Kokhong, Deputy Director General at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, expressed optimism for the sector’s future, pointing out the impressive evolution over the past two years and the strengthening of the sector.
Mr. Kjeld Olsen CEO and Founder of Car4you and Vice-Chairman of the Automotive Committee, highlighted the government’s increased support for the private sector but called for more efficiency and greater input from the private sector to drive meaningful action.
