This morning at Oakwood Premier Phnom Penh, EuroCham’s Digital & Technology Committee hosted a “𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭” Breakfast Talk, to dive into the challenges and opportunities that come with the increasing digitalisation of banking.
The event kicked off with opening remarks by Mr. Tomas Pokorny, Chairman of the EuroCham Digital & Technology Committee and Founder D.Q.D. Consulting, and was followed by a presentation by Mr. Nicolas Hollanders, Vice-Chairman of the EuroCham Digital & Technology Committee and CEO of BRED Bank Cambodia. Mr. Hollanders shared his experience and perspective on the digital banking market and how the Cambodian bank industry in recent years has shifted toward digitalisation.
Mr. SARAT OUK, Deputy Director General of Central Banking Operation General Directorate and Director of the Payment System Department, National Bank of Cambodia (NBC), gave an overview of NBC’s digital banking market and current projects, including an overview of the development of digital payment systems.
The event concluded with an interactive panel discussion moderated by Mr. POKORNY. He was joined by Mr. Ouk Sarat; Mr. HOLLANDERS; Mr. Remi Pell Chairman of the Cambodian Association of Finance and Technology (CAFT), and Co-Founder iPay88 Cambodia; and Ms. Ivana Tranchini, Country Manager, Visa Cambodia.
