On Thursday, 4th September 2025, EuroCham’s Digital and Technology Committee successfully hosted a “Breakfast Talk: Digital Sovereignty of Cambodia” at TRIBE Phnom Penh. The event focused on the critical importance of data privacy and protection within the framework of Cambodia’s digital sovereignty. It also explored the intersection between digital sovereignty and cybersecurity, and featured case studies illustrating best practices in the handling of equipment and devices containing digital data.

The event was honored by the presence of H.E. Keo Sothie, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, who delivered the opening remarks. He underscored the need for enhanced collaboration between the public and private sectors, the development of legal and regulatory frameworks, and investment in human capital.

A panel discussion provided a platform for dynamic exchange between public and private sector representatives. The panel featured H.E. Cheang Vutha, Deputy Secretary General of General Secretariat of Digital Government Committee, Dr. Chen Sovann, Director of the Science, Technology, and Innovation Data Management Department at the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation, as well as a key figure from the private sector.
