On Thursday 30 May, 2024, EuroCham and its Real Estate & Construction Committee had a meeting with His Excellency Say Samal, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, after His Excellency addressed the audience during the Tall Building Forum. This meeting is part of EuroCham’s ongoing and long-standing relationship with the Ministry and aligns with the courtesy call made to the Minister in December 2023.
His Excellency acknowledged the policy recommendations in the White Book and expressed interest in collaborating more closely with the Chamber. The meeting also reiterated some of the Committee’s priorities, such as the adoption of the EuroCode in Cambodia and improved coordination between the fire code and urban planning regulations. Both EuroCham and MLMUPC are prepared to further collaborate and support each other.
The next step for EuroCham will be to create a document outlining the top priorities and detailing a set of actions to achieve these objectives.
