On Monday, 30 March, EuroCham’s Tourism & Hospitality Committee met with Mr. Kim Minea, CEO of the Cambodia Tourism Board (CTB), at the CTB office. This marked the first formal meeting to introduce each party’s activities and explore opportunities for future collaboration.
During the meeting, both parties exchanged views on current trends in Cambodia’s tourism sector, including the increase in European tourists traveling to Cambodia. European arrivals grew modestly (+3.2%), with strong gains from the UK (+10.4%) and Poland (+20.7%). The discussion also covered relevant tourism statistics and the involvement of CTB and the Tourism Committee with the Ministry of Tourism.
Another key highlight was the discussion of CTB’s activities and initiatives. Mr. Minea noted that CTB has been promoting Cambodia’s tourism sector through marketing campaigns and collaboration with relevant stakeholders, particularly through FAM trips and trade shows to strengthen relationships with European travel agents.
Following a better understanding of each other’s objectives and activities, the meeting concluded with both parties expressing their interest in future collaboration. In particular, as Cambodia is set to host the Francophonie Summit this year, both sides identified potential areas for cooperation and will continue dialogue in the weeks and months ahead.
