Duration: 1 hour
On Tuesday, 17 March, the Hospitality Committee held a meeting serving as an operational update and an opportunity to outline the action plan for the remainder of 2026.
During the meeting, Chairperson Ms. Catherine Germier-Hame reviewed the committee’s activities in 2025, including consultations with key representatives from the Ministry of Tourism on trends and challenges in Cambodia’s tourism sector, as well as strategies to attract more European visitors.
It was noted that European arrivals to Cambodia increased in the first quarter of 2026, presenting an opportunity to further promote the country as a tourist destination. The committee also looked back on its participation in several events, including the opening ceremony of the Vocational School of Tourism and a session with the EU Delegation in Cambodia to introduce the committee and its work.
Members were also briefed on upcoming EuroCham’s MICE directory, which will be integrated into the official EuroCham website. Currently in development, the directory is an online platform that allows businesses to register and showcase their services, such as conference venues, meeting facilities, and event-related services. EuroCham members can list their businesses on the platform free of charge.
Looking ahead, a training webinar on AI in tourism is planned for late April. The session will feature experts sharing practical applications of AI in management, marketing, and promotion within the tourism sector.
The committee also discussed Cambodia’s upcoming Francophonie Summit and GX Summit, both scheduled for Q2 2026. These events provide opportunities to showcase Cambodia on the international stage, and the committee is awaiting organisers’ action plans to determine how best to engage and support the development of the tourism sector in the months ahead.
