The Garment & Manufacturing Committee held its second meeting on Wednesday 21st June 2023 at the EuroCham Office to discuss the upcoming CSR Awards and the 2023 White Book Edition.
The CSR Awards: On October 17, 2023, the EuroCham Garment and Manufacturing Committee and its Responsible Business Hub (RBH) will host the CSR Garment Awards. The CSR Garment Awards were created with the goal of honoring and celebrating the great efforts and accomplishments made by members of the fashion industry in the areas of sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR). The event will come to a close with a glitzy gala night that brings together stakeholders, industry leaders, and influencers.
The committee members also talked about choosing the judges for this competition, which will include three groups of judges and external auditors to gather data, examine the evidence, and visit the factory. The judge will be an authority on the subject to guarantee objectivity in the assessment.
The EuroCham 2023 White Book Recommendations on Garment & Manufacturing Chapter has officially finalized its initial draft, which contains five (5) recommendations. These include:
· Establish a licensing system for collective transport vehicles and drivers in Cambodia;
· Increase Data Transparency;
· Introduce Tax Incentives for Factories to Recycle Garment Waste;
· Establish Progressive Private Solar Rooftop Policy for Factories;
· Prevent Sexual Harassment in the Workplace;
The Committee is now striving to successfully complete these large projects!
