EuroCham’s Green Business Committee met for the second time this year on 29 April. During the meeting at EuroCham offices, a number of key issues were discussed including new regulations on waste management and environmental assessments.

Meeting overview:

🔹 On the EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) scheme and waste management, with the recent Prakas on E-Waste management issued on March 18, committee members welcomed this new regulation but are looking for its effective implementation, as challenges may arise for companies.

🔹 On environmental impact assessments, as the request to amend Prakas 08 was made official during the Cambodia-EU Public-Private Sector Dialogue, the committee will follow up with the Ministry of Environment to ensure market access that will support European companies.

🔹 Members received updates related to the rooftop solar situation and continue looking for improved tariffs that will favour greener investments.

The committee will also engage in additional activities to discuss good practices within companies and will explore the organization of a Green Biz Forum centered around the topic of green financing.
