The chairman of the EuroCham Green Business Committee, Dr. Sajith Edirisuriya, presided over a meeting on Thursday, October 26, during which important issues pertaining to green business were discussed. The following topics were discussed at the meeting:
The Green Business Committee discussed the New Rooftop Solar Policy and raised several issues, which they will convey to the Royal Government of Cambodia after getting member input.
The committee also discussed the Environmental and Natural Resources Code, or “Environmental Code” that was adopted on June 29, 2023. The environmental code was one of the White Book’s top goals, therefore the committee was very grateful for it. However, the members were also concerned about the competition among environmental impact assessment consulting firms because nationality requirements are still in place.
Finally, the Green Business Committee started to consider hosting its premier event, the Green Business Forum 2024 Edition, following the success of the Green Business Forum on Pioneering Innovation for a Sustainable Future back in June.
