On Friday, 17th of November 2023, EuroCham Agribusiness Committee held its 6th committee meeting of the year 2023 to talk stock about the accomplishment of the past months and foresee the next steps.
Mr. Rajiv Pradhan, Vice-Chairman of the Committee, opened the meeting by reminding the actions from the past month: Impact Study, Tarasa Workshop Endorsement, Peeper Working Group, and especially Courtesy Meeting with H.E. Heng Sour, Minister of Labour and Vocational Training. During this meeting at the MoLVT, the Committee raised the importance of adapting the conditions in the agricultural sector. Indeed, the labour law could be improved to make it more adapted to the Agricultural sector. Along with the labour law issue, the meeting was the occasion for the members to share their concerns on the tax-related issues notably on export of certain products.
Then, the members of the Committee, finalise the discussion on the upcoming half-day forum entitled “Rooting for Change: Smart Financing for Sustainable Agriculture” that will take place on Friday, 1st of December 2023, at Topaz Phnom Penh (You can register for this event via the following link: Registration ⇽ Rooting for Change: Smart Financing for Sustainable Agriculture | EuroCham Cambodia on Glue Up).
This meeting should be the last one of the year for AgriBiz committee, but definitely not the last activity for the committee !
