On 2 April, EuroCham, led by Chairperson Mr. Tassilo Brinzer, attended the Public-Private Sector Breakfast Briefing organised by the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC). The meeting was chaired by H.E. Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Sun Chanthol and H.E. Mr. Keo Rottanak, Minister of Mines and Energy, and brought together representatives from embassies and foreign chambers of commerce in Cambodia.
This engagement aimed to further strengthen dialogue and cooperation between the Royal Government of Cambodia, foreign missions, and the business community, placing particular emphasis on enhancing Cambodia’s investment climate, improving aftercare services for investors, and supporting the continued development of the express logistics sector and export competitiveness.
In his remarks, Mr. Brinzer highlighted the importance of strengthening and expanding the formal economy, while also addressing ongoing challenges related to regulatory complexity and the tax system as well as the Prakas 117 on the Simplification of Business Registration, which has been a key focus for the international chambers.
Following the“Conference on Delivering Export-Led Growth” (see below), Chairperson of the Transport & Logistics Committee Mr. Bunthan Suy also provided an update on the recent improvements in the express logistics sector. He highlighted key progress made through ongoing collaboration between the public and private sectors, particularly in streamlining procedures and enhancing operational efficiency.
These developments were well received by the Royal Government of Cambodia, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing the logistics sector and supporting Cambodia’s export competitiveness.
We thank the Council for the Development of Cambodia for the invitation to this high-level dialogue.
