On Tuesday 11 August, EuroCham, represented by Mr. Rotha Chea and Mr. Jorne Nooij, joined a meeting at the headquarters of the Electricity Authority of Cambodia (EAC) on the “Principles and Procedures for the Installation and Use of Solar PV Systems on Rooftops in Cambodia,” alongside two members of the Green Business Committee. The session centred on the EAC’s First Revision of the Regulations on Installation and Use of Rooftop Solar PV in Cambodia (2024).

The meeting gave EuroCham the opportunity to gain clarification on the procedures around new system installations, including the service level guidelines EDC works to, and collaboration on where there might be room to streamline and speed up the process for both installers and clients.

We’re pleased to share that EuroCham’s concern was raised and heard, with the EDC representative confirming that once a meter installation request is submitted, EDC is committing to a service level of installing the compensation meter within 5 working days. This is encouraging news for installers and industry alike, as down-time of Renewable Energy installations can be reduced.

EuroCham is grateful to EAC and EDC for the clear communication and will continue working with EAC and EDC to ease procedures for both industry and solar PV installers, in support of greater renewable energy supply and consumption across Cambodia.
