The meeting commenced with an update on the upcoming Digital Sovereignty Event, scheduled for Thursday, 04th September 2025, from 08:30 AM to 11:40 AM. This was followed by a discussion on the 5G infrastructure development and the role of European technology companies to support this.
In terms of advocacy, the committee explored current data protection measures to strengthen data privacy alignment with the European GDPR industry standard. In relation to digitalization, the committee also looked at the user journey experience of online business registration platforms.
With reference to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the EuroCham Cambodia and the Cambodia Academy of Digital Technology (CADT), the committee underscored the importance of promoting student internship programs and engaging in applied research to help tackle societal challenges.
In addition, the committee is considering the inclusion of topics related to finance and artificial intelligence (AI) in the next editions of both the White Book and the Digital and Technology Roadmap.
Finally, the committee discussed the prospect of organizing a cross-committee forum focused on the “Digital Economy,” tentatively planned for early next year.
