On Thursday, 22nd May 2025, the Digital & Technology Committee, chaired by Mr. Tomas Pokorny, met at the EuroCham office to discuss key initiatives for the upcoming quarter. The main points discussed were as follows:
Concerns Over Cybersecurity in Cambodia: Mr. Thierry Ngon, Founder and CEO of Redbridge Asia, delivered a presentation highlighting the growing cybersecurity concerns amidst Cambodia’s rapid digital transformation. He emphasised that cyber threats—such as phishing and ransomware—are emerging from various sources and pose a significant risk to all sectors. Mr. Ngon stressed on the need to increase the awareness and proactive measures to address cybersecurity threats in Cambodia.
Upcoming Digital & Technology Forum: The committee is currently finalising the agenda for the upcoming Digital Asset Forum, scheduled for 20th June 2025. This forum aims to explore whether digital assets are beneficial for business and will provide updates on the current regulatory landscape from the Royal Government of Cambodia.
Agri-Tech Breakfast Talk: In collaboration with the AgriBusiness Committee, the Digital & Technology Committee is pleased to announce the upcoming Agri-Tech Breakfast Talk, scheduled for 27th June 2025. This event will bring together experts and stakeholders to explore the role of technology in mitigating agricultural risks, enhancing productivity, and promoting sustainable farming practices.
Update on CADT Plans: Mr. Didier Guy provided an update on the current initiatives of the Cambodia Academy of Digital Technology (CADT), and provided to the members area where academic and private sector could collaborate, in light of the MoU between the CADT and EuroCham expected to be renewed soon.
